Students meet weekly for science. Our science curriculum is based on Next Generation Science Standards using the Full Option Science System (FOSS) program. This is a hands-on science curriculum. We have three main units every year - Physical Science, Earth Science, and Life Science.

Physical Education

Physical Education Teacher: Jesse Inclan

I started at Sequoia in 2000. I have worked for O.U.S.D since 1986. I switched to being a full time P.E. teacher in 1991. I love hiking the East Bay Park trails in the summer.

Schedule: Contact your teacher about your student's scheduled day and time.

TK - 5th Grade Drumming

Teacher: Bob Frazier (Mr. Bob)

I am an artist-in-residence in my 14th year of teaching at Sequoia. Though I play a variety of instruments, I play the piano for composition and the trumpet for performance. Aside from music, I enjoy cooking and fishing.

Goals/Hopes for my classes: To be able to reach the majority of our pupils by giving them music theory. My hope in teaching music theory is to give them a strong foundation so that by the time they enter 4th grade, they are prepared for the opportunity to learn to play an instrument.

Current specifics are melody, harmony, rhythm, and composition.

4th and 5th Grade Strings

4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to study violin or cello.
